Močan & Green Grout

Met up with a friend for lunch and we decided to check out Močan & Green Grout, a little cafe that has recently expanded from their hole-in-a-wall-coffee-takeaway business.
When you first set your feet into Močan & Green Grout, it almost feels like you are going into someone's home. It's a small, rustic and cozy cafe with an open kitchen right in the middle of it.  Thus, you can choose to seat by the kitchen island and enjoy the makings of your food or alternatively, you can seat at the comfortable seats spread around the cafe.

The cafe is adorned with a few quirky things such as the 'golden hands' clothes hanger and the rusty basket of oranges and I loved the little pastries' section (sourced from Dream Cuisine) by the entrance. Even the outdoor area is awesomely decorated with a wooden multi-coloured bench, hanging pots of plants and a little spot featuring their own little garden!! *how cool is that? Oh, and I almost forgot to mention how I loved the fresh flowers at our table! So pretty =)

The menu is simple and focuses mainly on coffee, breakfast items and sandwiches. On this particular occasion, we decided to order Baked Eggs with Tomato, Cavolo Nero, Lemon and Goats Chèvre and a Ham Sandwich with Gruyere and Wholegrain Mustard.
Although not looking very big, the baked eggs were so filling! It was a hearty and comforting dish which went well with the complimentary bread sourced from Bread Nerds. I was just not sure about the goats chèvre (only my second encounter) but it turns out that i quite liked it in this dish!
The ham sandwich looked simple but it was packed with flavours and the mustard definitely added a nice kick to it.

Although we only stayed there for a short while (lunch breaks are short!) we absolutely enjoyed it. The cafe is located in a quieter area of the CBD which makes it so suitable for a relaxing catch up with friends or even to read. The staff is friendly and the food is simple yet comforting. I will certainly be back to try some breakfast items...i would have surely devoured the Rose scented granola with rhubarb and yoghurt if I had more room in my stomach...
Look at the little garden!
